Go check it out people. I'm still figuring out how to participate myself though, having no paypal and all. But it's for such a good cause that something needs to be done.

That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing the link, otherwise I likely would have missed this was going on. I hope that I can contribute to such a good cause.

I thought it was such an awesome thing that I had to share the link to spread the word! Hopefully we get a huge bunch of participants^^

Also, I nominated you as an author for the event, I hope you don't mind :) You still don't have to do it of course if you don't want to.

Ooooh. Thanks! No, I'd love to help out, just wasn't sure if I was really active enough to get nominated. XD Heee, thank you. ^-^

I was going through the names there and when you weren't mentioned I was totally surprised! Since, truth to be told, you're possibly the author whose stories I enjoy the most right now ;) It'd be a shame not to get you to participate! :D

Awww, heee, thank you so much. ^-^

Also, I added your writing journal, I hope you don't mind :D

This is cool, but it worries me about the "win" part. Do you know if the people that win the story or fanart owns it then? Like they can do what they want with it...as in it's theirs now and you sold all ownership to the piece?

[identity profile] fonulyn.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so. If you want a 110% sure answer you have to ask the ones arranging it though. But I really don't think that the author of the original story (or the artist of the fanart) is selling all the ownerships to the piece. The one who 'wins' the bidding is just allowed to describe what (s)he wants and will then get the artwork as some sort of present. But of course the original maker needs credit for the work done. If you want a more intelligent and clear reply you can ask the ones who are arranging it still x)

Haha, thank you. They came to me though XD and answered my question here. You were 200% right~ :3

Hi there! I'm one of the people organizing the event, and to answer your question, authors and artists participating in the event will only put themselves up for sale. And by 'themselves', we're talking about their services. :) It's almost like writing/drawing a request for someone, but this time you're actually getting something in return for the request ('cept what you're getting in return goes to charity 8D). Basically bidders will bid for the author/artist's services, but rights to the finished product still remains with the actual creator. Hope this helps!

Oh ok! Thanks~ that helped a lot. :]
